Lyle 5102T in Kansas City KS for $150

These guitars were very popular in the 1960's and appear under names like Ventura, Aria, Univox, Bruno and Lyle. They were all made at the same Matsumoku factory and they are all pretty much the same - the pickups usually being the main difference between brands (I personally like the Univox).

I always try to emphasize to newbies that these are really not ES-335 type guitars because they don't have a solid tone block down the center or a stop tailpiece. I also think that as a general rule the single coil Japanese pickups sound better than the humbuckers during this period.

This Lyle 5102T guitar is in decent shape for its age. Manufactured from approximately 1965-1972. Few scuffs and missing one tuner gear cover. Pickups a bit lose. Could use a little TLC and minor repair. 2 volume and 2 tone controls, 3 position toggle switch, adjustable bridge. This guitar has a bolt on neck, and a pretty robust construction. Lyle Model 5102T semi-hollow body electric guitar marketed and distributed by L.D. Heater (L stands for Lyle) manufactured by Matsumoku out of Japan. This guitar was styled somewhat after the Gibson 330, 335, 345, and 335 electric guitar series in the late 60's and 70's. The Norlin Corporation owned both L.D. Heater and Gibson back then.
